Office Associate and New Patient Coordinator
After graduating from Bucknell, Amy began a career in banking and finance. She left the field to raise her family and years later, sought to get back into the working world The opportunity in Dr. Shoumer's office presented its self and was a way to work with great people and learn the dynamics of dentistry. Amy assists new patients with records and financial coordination, serves as a liaison between the office and referring specialists, and generally helps to keep the office running smoothly. She keeps busy with her family and loves to run, travel, play with her Labradors, and has recently taken up golf.
Andrea has been a hygienist for 19 years and has been with Dr. Shoumer for the last year. Andrea has always had a love for dentistry and for providing excellent care for her patients. She is thrilled to be part of Dr. Shoumer's staff. "Everyone is very welcoming in the office and I have developed a strong rapport with my patients. I see Dr. Shoumer's dedication to her patients who feel a sense of pride upon completion of their treatment " Andrea looks forward to many years ahead as part of the team!
Andrea is married with three children and two very active German Short-haired Pointers. In her free time she enjoys her family and watching her kids play sports. She enjoys cooking and is forever in the kitchen. She is addicted to new cookbooks and trying recipes!!
Gina is a highly trained, experienced Dental Hygienist who joined Dr. Shoumer in January 2016. She is enthusiastic because of Dr. Shoumer's commitment to comprehensive dental care in a comfortable setting with a very caring and competent staff of professionals. Gina's love for people and love for her profession flourish in Dr. Shoumer's practice where she is able to utilize her exceptional skills to assist each patient in managing a lifetime of oral health.
Gina is married with two daughters. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as cooking and reading. She also volunteers on Sundays at Divine Providence Village, a facility for special needs adults.
E.F.D.A (Expanded Function Dental Assistant)
Karen began working in the field in 1986 as a dental assistant then continued her education at Harcum College in 2007 to get her E.F.D.A (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) license. She takes great pride in patient care and continuing education. Karen lives in Wayne with her husband,Chris and her daughter. Lindsay. She enjoys spending time with `family and friends, reading, gardening and going to the OCNJ shore in the summer.
What Karen likes most about our practice is that everyone that works here is like one big family and we all get along. As for patients, seeing how happy they are when they leave here with a new smile is the best feeling. It really makes the day exciting!

Kathy is thrilled to work with Dr. Shoumer and her amazing team. She brings over ten years of office experience in the dental field and is motivated by assisting our patients with their continuing care. The complex issues involving patient insurance and billing are a welcome challenge, while the most enjoyment comes from listening to and conversing with our patients about their rich life experiences.
Outside of the workplace, Kathy loves to spend time talking daily with her daughter about her life as a college student. She takes great pride watching her son compete in high school and Drum corps International. Daily life is completed by talking with her best friend and husband while laughing over their crazy cats rambling. Life is good!
Mikaela Bicja is a recent graduate from Harcum College and is a certified dental assistant. Mikaela did her externship at Dr. Shoumer's dental office. Dr. Shoumer was very impressed with Mikaela's work ethic and offered her a position as a dental assistant on her team.
Mikaela was born in Albania and moved to the United States with her family at the age of 13 years. Since she was young she had an interest in pursuing a career in the dental field. "Being a dental assistant is so interesting. Each patient has a different need and each procedure is very different from the next." Mikaela enjoys the combination of working closely with patients and building relationships and feels strongly about Dr. Shoumer's office being very special in that regard.
Mikaela enjoys traveling and visiting new places with her family and friends. Mikaela is fluent is several languages and enjoys learning new ones.
Wynette' s career as a dental assistant began 24 years ago at the University of Pennsylvania Dental Care Center. There, she met and assisted Or. Shoumer in the early days of her dental career. "It is nice going to a job that I enjoy so much!" Wynette has said. She takes great pride in providing patients a clean and comfortable environment so that they may have a positive dental experience. The most rewarding part of Wynette's job is "seeing a new patient who is at first apprehensive due to a previous dental experience, then leaves our office satisfied, happy, and no longer afraid to have dental work done." Outside of work, Wynette enjoys spending all her time with her husband, two grown sons, and a young daughter.
